In October 2018 in Barcelona, Spain, Juan Lores alongside Samuel Lores, his brother, founded Ovalo, a collective electronic music concept that aims to merge art with the party scene. This challenging and authentic new approach blends the fun of international DJs and Cafe del Mar, an environment that exhibits local artist’s paintings decorating its walls, flash tattoos, live panting, performing magicians, sex shops, hairstyling, artistic makeup, food trucks and an art market where local designers are invited to showcase their work.
Some months before Ovalo’s creation, the brothers started making t-shirts for the Macarena club in Barcelona. It was due to Ovalo’s creation that the spinoff, Ovalo Fashion, was borne. Exhibited on Ovalo Sounday’s inauguration and beloved by many for its overall cool, bold and authentic concept. Ovalo defines its style by making what is different, feel cool.
The brand’s name was inspired by the female ovum, where life is conceived. The black wolf and the white wolf are symbolic of freedom, individuality and teamwork. Both black and white wolves live inside us; fighting incessantly to dominate our inner soul. The wolf you feed the most, whether black or white, will ultimately dominate your state of mind and color your emotions.
We are Ovalo because we believe that unification is the key to success. We work with brands like Tiger Soul Sunglasses among others. Black and white are the dominant colors of the brand where masculine mystery meets feminine elements, where the stereotypical is left behind in a haze and individuality is at the forefront.
As a playful yet sophisticated fashion line, special attention is paid to the selection of fabrics, the tailoring and the cuts; minimal details are taken into account. We believe every garment is a statement of individuality. The layering of fabrics in monochromatic shades and tones has been a signature quality of the brand since its conception
In the summer of 2019, Ovalo Fashion exponentially grew to the point where its fashion line was being sold in many different parts of Barcelona city. Ovalo Fashion took part in many festivals like Brunch in the Park, El Row, Das Club and others. It opened up its first store in El Barrio del Born in Barcelona
